Youth 18 Guilty of Murder Faces Electric Chair
Gerald Kilinger, aged 18, was found guilty by a six by six jury of murdering Harold E. Mast on Oct. 5. The judge will pronounce death in the electric chair next week. The jury rejected mercy. Dog survives burial after being shot and struck by car
Brownie, a five month old dog in Calumet City, was hit by a car and shot in the head. A neighbor shot the animal and buried it, but Brownie emerged from a shallow grave the next day. He was treated by Dr. Robert Snyder and returned home, with a fractured leg healing and a slight limp remaining. The mercy bullet ricocheted off his skull, leaving no serious injury.
