The Wisconsin Employment Relations Board urged a temporary restraining order as eight struck Western Electric CWA officers face a show cause hearing Tuesday. The La Crosse State Teachers College athletic department announced a telegram from New Orleans reporting a 20 to 13 victory over Gustavus Adolphus and a Williamson national football rating of 62.0, the highest ever for any Wisconsin or Minnesota State Teachers college, signed Paul B. Williamson.

De Soto Post Office Burns in Wisconsin town

A fire gutted the 80 year old De Soto post office building at 9 15 a m on Monday forcing two families on the upper floor to flee. Firemen battled the blaze for an hour and saved all belongings and post office equipment. A temporary office is in the village hall. No injuries reported and the cause is unknown. The owner is Mrs Nettie Tenney.

Fires Claim 8 In East Areas

Eight people died in a string of fires in western Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. In Garrett Pennsylvania six children and two adults perished when a frame house burned in freezing weather. Victims included Kay 15 Darlene 7 Danny 5 LaVerne 3 Linda Sue 2 and Clarence 15. The parents were out shopping when the blaze started. A separate fire near Oil City killed eight month old James Stover. In Sharon Pennsylvania Mrs Alton Phillips 50 died in a home fire. In Wisconsin near Wausau two men died when a car and a tractor collided and exploded. The crash injured Richard B 20 and left the driver of the tractor with burns. Coroner's office to review details.

Venezuelan Militarist Delgado Chalbaud Slain

Lieut. Col. Carlos Delgado Chalbaud, head of Venezuela's military junta, was killed on Monday in Caracas. The government gave no details of the shooting. He helped lead the 1948 army revolt and had served as minister of war under Romulo Gallegos before joining the overthrow of the constitutional government.

Woman Doctor Free On Bond In Kidnapping Case

Dr. Nancy Campbell 43, Yale trained, released on a $25 000 bond pending trial on kidnapping charges involving a contractor's nine year old daughter Linda Stamm. FBI uncovered notes and a pistol. Campbell claimed to be a go between. The case hinges on New Mexico kidnapping penalties up to the death penalty.
