Plan To Ease Farm Tax Load Rejected
La Crosse County supervisors on Wednesday rejected an equalized valuation plan that would have provided relief for farmers. Supporters Maynard Stratman and Charles Pierce say towns in the county have no recourse but to accept the board’s decision as the state uses the Department of Revenue to set each municipality’s share of county and school tax and state aid.
