A milk tank truck and a cement truck collided with a passenger car on Highway 51 16 in Columbia County, killing Howard Janisch Jr 16 his mother Eunice Janisch 34 and Mary Blietz 68 all rural Portage. The cement truck driver Dennis A Brown 20 of Baraboo and other occupants were injured. Brown burned severely transferred to St Marys Milwaukee hospital.

Youth dies as tractor rolls over at farm in Mindoro area
An 18 year old named John Schneider was killed Friday morning when a tractor he was operating rolled over on the Dean Mades farm on Wenzel Road five miles east of Mindoro in La Crosse County. Police reported he was dead at the scene and witnesses said the tractor flipped while attempting to free it from a barn area.
