Wisconsin reports strong turnout fuelled by La Follette speeches. Elsewhere, New York track workers vote early against Hughes, Illinois monitors report heavy early votes, and Oklahoma expects Bryan victory amid possible Gore senate reelect. Rolling conditions promise broad turnout as machines aid or hinder counting in multiple states.
In Minneapolis on election day many union labor men refused to vote on machines because they are made by non union labor. Persuasion failed and scores refused to touch the machines. Bryan and Johnson lost most, Taft support small. Johnson believes he will carry the state by 30,000. Jacobson followers equally confident. Many Regroes stayed away rather than vote Taft.
New York, Nov 3 Rockerfeller waited 40 minutes at a voting place. After emerging he refused to discuss the vote for Taft, saying he could not talk about it. He stood four places behind Alton Parker and declined preferred placement in line.
New York election officers report 28 arrests for illegal voting during the election. All arrested men were merely challenged and discharged by magistrates. Abraham Goodkind, a millionaire among the detained, raged and pledged to spend 1 000 000 to punish the man whose alleged error caused his detention.
Salt Lake City voters cast the biggest ballot in state history on November 3. Early indications suggested Taft would win a large plurality. In New Orleans on November 2, Louisiana voters focused on ten constitutional amendments with Democrats expected to exceed their usual turnout.
The board approved a statuary purchase of nine pieces totaling 356 dollars brought to the teachers convention. A new trig class was adopted to satisfy eastern university entrance requirements. October enrollment reached 4,267 with 4,007 daily attendance, 7 truancies, 325 tardies, and 3 corporal punishment cases.
Trempealeau county voters cast the biggest poll in history as the Ekern Twesme assembly contest dominates. Each side claims victory while pundits say Ekern would win if independents can vote without voiding ballots.

In Wheeling West Virginia on November 3 a funeral was interrupted when an explosion ignited the deceased Charles Fisher’s clothing and coffin as the body lay in the casket, causing a fatal fire during the wake.
