Bulletin at noon says Mrs McKinley is very low and sinking rapidly. Dr Rixey remains at her bedside as relatives brace for end. Her heart is irregular and now fails to respond to stimulants as early reports note possible death within hours.
Wisconsin Hollow Concrete of Milwaukee has written to La Crosse and other cities seeking shipping facilities and possible plant sites. The firm cites sand and rock as chief needs and says incentives offered by La Crosse have been communicated. No reply yet, with an answer expected next week.
In Cleveland on May 25 a nationwide machinists strike looms as 100 workers in the Erie ship fitting long arm system walk out after 25 were discharged. The walkout follows a nationwide push to enforce a nine hour day by June 3 with a negotiating committee set to confer with the company.
Roy Fairbanks and his wife had been held on a disorderly house charge requested by Humane Officer C. H. Berry. Judge Brindley dismissed the case after evidence failed to convict. The La Crosse Free Fare Association replaces the La Crosse Rebate Association after a well attended meeting at City Hall. Beginning today merchants issue rebates to all shoppers including outside visitors, with rebate books cashed at the National Bank. A broad advertising campaign is planned to promote the new system and attract patrons from nearby towns.

Boise Idaho May 25 The complete Orchard confession is in the defense hands in the Haywood trial. The leak of the information may have allowed witnesses to be concealed from the defense. Detectives say Orchard will reveal the inner circle behind the murders and other crimes, a claim seen as a major blow to the state.
The La Crosse Co operage company will install additional machinery at its plant to raise output. With current capacity it cannot fill all orders.

William Glennie of Elizabeth New Jersey aged seventy on a Minneapolis bound trip leaped from a coach window on train No 3 near Portage. He vanished but later was found near a farm and taken to Portage to await his nephew from Minneapolis. The incident left police unsure of his location.

Leopold Albrecht died at his Stoddard home after a long illness from dropsy. He was 74, a retired resident who came from Germany about twenty years ago. The funeral was held Monday afternoon with Rev. Gamm officiating. Miller Brothers had charge. Interment followed at Mormon Coulee cemetery.
Alderman Robert Schulze of the Fifth ward submitted his resignation to the city council claiming he will move from the ward. The council referred the matter to the next meeting. Schulze said he served faithfully and deserves a rest and he has no successor in mind. The council had not yet accepted the resignation but is likely to do so.
Miss Bertie Tombs of Somerset was cre mated at 4 AM after the Burnsides telephone exchange burned. Only a few charred bones remained as she operated the switch board.
