A La Crosse contest offers a $1 prize for correctly guessing a well known local figure depicted in a character sketch. Past winners include Mrs. Weston of Pine Street. Miss Dolorita O Gorman daughter of United States Senator O Gorman wed Anthony Maher of New York in the chapel of the Loyola school. Her only attendant was her sister Alice.
Chaos erupts as a gallery collapses during a theater performance. About 200 people flee or are trapped as supports fail and patrons rush to exits. Police and emergency crews respond to the scene.
At noon today a floor collapse at the Long Beach Auditorium during Victoria Day celebrations left at least 25 dead and hundreds injured. Police report 200 to 300 fallen as doctors, ambulances, and police sped to the scene.

Emil Zimmerman aged 35 was found dead at his Nelson area home in Maiden Rock Wisconsin. His body sat at a table with an empty carbolic acid bottle in his hand and is believed to have ended his life days ago.
