Illinois Senator Charles Percy told about 1,400 Wisconsin Republicans at the state convention that Nixon faces a cloud over his administration yet praised his leadership while outlining steps to prevent future Watergate scandals.
Riot police cleared Walpole state prison after inmates damaged facilities and fired on guards with plastic bullets during a night of rioting. Five inmates were wounded as troopers entered at 6 30 a m and corralled prisoners by 8 30 a m.
Otto E. Lieder 88 former owner of Lieder Lumber Co. died Friday morning at his home 325 N 23rd St. He had led the firm since 1938 after buying Horace A H Lampert estate and had partnered with Lampert from 1926. He served in many civic groups including Wesley United Methodist Church Gideon International and several Masonic and Scottish Rite bodies. Survived by daughter Muriel Tronick and two sons.

Colleran will work as a psychiatric nurse at St Francis Hospital Weymiller will join Lutheran Hospital ICU. Atchison pursued a double major English and history while caring for six children and three marriages.
