In Macon Georgia Sanders Walker a wealthy banker chose to entertain friends for his final hours after ingesting bichloride of mercury by mistake for a cold remedy. He welcomed guests at his home last night and smiled through his pain before collapsing. Police were called to manage the crowd as doctors warned death could come tonight.

YEGGS broke into Union Grove post office in Racine County early Sunday. The safe exploded but robbers escaped with only $7.37 in cash and about $500 in stamps. No injuries reported. Local authorities investigate the break in the small Wisconsin town.

Berlin May 19 The Kaiser pardoned Bertrand Stewart a London solicitor and two British officers Captain Trench and Lieut Brandon detained as spies. Stewart arrested February 4 1912 for spying on a naval port sentenced to three and a half years. Trench and Brandon jailed December 22 1910 for spying on the North Sea coast sentenced to four years. No official reason given though wedding plans of Princess Victoria Louise and Prince Ernst of Cumberland are suspected to influence the act.
Belle Valley Ohio May 19 Fifteen men were killed four fatally injured and fifteen others imperilled in two explosions at the Imperial mine of the O Gara Coal Co A rescue party suffered one fatality and others were trapped by a second blast State mine inspector began an investigation as funeral arrangements were planned for all the victims who were to be buried together officials could not explain the accident noting the mine had been declared safe by fire boss Sam Sollis just minutes before the blasts.
Elmer Sater 26, a farmer living west of Galesville, hanged himself near his home after a year of despondency. He vanished Saturday at 4 a.m. and was found Sunday afternoon by two boys. An inquest ruled suicide due to insanity. burial was at Centerville cemetery.

Sophie Kisinski, 16, escaped an attempted murder when Lianees Lisko shot her in the neck over a marriage refusal. The 32 caliber bullet flattened in her stocking. doctors say she will live after emergency treatment at the hospital.

On West Salem road Miss Ethel Neimeister and Miss Mary Kendhammer were struck when an automobile driven by Mr Otto Loeffler veered to avoid other carriages. The buggy overturned, but the girls and carriage escaped serious injuries as they were thrown into the sand. No injuries reported and the carriage remained undamaged.
Mrs. John Woodrow, 81, President Wilsons favorite aunt and oldest relative, died at her daughters home in Denver after a week long bout with bronchitis. She once lived with the Wilson family. her husband John Woodrow was the brother of the presidents mother.
Denver observers report Battle Creek physicians warned Judge Ben Lindsey of the juvenile court to retire from duties for twelve months to recover from a long lasting stomach ailment. Lindsey said he has not decided and wonders if one year now is worth twenty years later in life.
President Wilson told correspondents there is no current crisis with Japan and he follows a confidence plan to prevent unfounded reports. He ordered secrecy on delicate points while emphasizing friendly negotiations will secure lasting goodwill between the United States and Japan.

Judge E. C. Higbee awarded six cents damages in a circuit court suit by S. Y. Hyde Jr. to oust A. C. Meister from a state road chicken farm run in partnership. Hyde testified chickens were damaged by Meister's feeding, amounting to $25. Meister must leave the farm as jurors discharged at term’s end.

Atlanta May 19 The Southern Assembly of the Presbyterian church voted 135 to 44 to drop the infant elect clause from the confession of faith and state that all infants are saved. The change ends a thirteen year old provision.
Two robbers bound and gagged the night watchman and tried to rifle the safe at Cohan's Grand Opera House in Chicago. They escaped through a police cordon after last night’s performance, flee via gallery and rear fire escape while the untouched safe remained. The men hid under seats, and Thomas McCabe, 50, was seized and gagged before escaping. The neighboring theater watchman heard McCabe’s cry for help.
Forty-one refugees from Tampico and Vera Cruz landed in Galveston on the steamer Norvega after raids by bandits left foreigners at risk. They recount two Americans killed in Tampico on May 14 and say authorities offered no protection, urging escape or death. Three former Madero officers fled with false names among the group.

Cincinnati officials and union leaders met for the first time since the strike began nearly a week ago as talks aimed at settlement proceeded this morning. W. D. Mahon and other union representatives discussed with Cincinnati Traction company officials in an effort to avert further disruption.

Washington reports Governor Johnson of California signed the Webb anti alien land ownership bill. Secretary of State Bryan said the administration would likely forward its reply to Japan’s protest later in the day. Bryan awaited official word before confirming actions and arranged for Ambassador Chinda to receive the U S response at the State Department conference.
Governor Johnson signed the Webb bill prohibiting land ownership by aliens not eligible for citizenship. The move ends delays sought to let Secretary Bryan complete diplomatic exchanges with the Japanese ambassador. Bryan’s contemplated reply to Japan’s protest awaits the signature and is now expedited by this action.

Members of the legislature committee arrived in Milwaukee for a two day inspection tour of proposed state fair sites. They were hosted at luncheon and will continue sightseeing through tomorrow. Earlier inspections included Janesville Madison and Oshkosh.
In Galesburg Illinois Knox College fraternity members held a moonlight nightshirt parade serenading the women of Whiting hall and later President McClelland. The Whiting hall girls applauded the ghostly performance and the event stirred college circles.

The Senate today approved a measure exempting duty free status for exhibits shown at the Panama California Exposition in San Diego. Items sold at the exposition will still be subject to duty.
