Assembly Budget Passes With Ethics Code for State Officials
The Wisconsin Assembly approved a 2.7 billion dollar 316 page budget 54 to 42 sending it to the Senate. It includes a state ethics code covering governor lieutenant governor attorney general secretary of state treasurer and 132 legislators and requires disclosure of income tax returns public records and bans on conflicts of interest with penalties up to three years in jail or a thousand dollar fine.
