Premier Witos announced amid Allied commission talks that a settlement on Upper Silesia is near. Insurgent leader Adalbert Korfanty and Polish factions expect partial success while Allies weigh the fate of disputed zones and possible ceasefire terms.
Mills Tourtellotte a La Crosse attorney for forty years and longtime resident died at his Cass Street home after a stroke Monday night. Born August 1863 in Holyoke Massachusetts he studied at Wisconsin and practised law in La Crosse. Surviving are his widow four children and a sister with services set for Sunday at Christ Episcopal Church and burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
A telephone hearing will be held here late in May by the railroad commission of Wisconsin. The hearing will occur at City Hall on Friday May 28 at a specified time.
A meeting of the grounds and buildings committee has been called for Thursday at unspecified time. The city clerk's office notes resolutions to appoint Warkinson and Dockendorf to supervise the construction of a Junior High School, plus requests and reports from the state board, with related police and parks considerations.
