New York reports Wil liam Faulkner won the 1955 Pulitzer Prize for fiction for A Fable an allegorical World War I mutiny tale. Tennessee Williams earned the drama prize for Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with A Streetcar Named Desire noted for Williams first Pulitzer in 1948.
Wisconsin Supreme Court upholds the Wisconsin Employment Relations Board jurisdiction in the Kohler strike case. The court affirmed that the board could act and that the circuit court had enforcement authority, rejecting claims of lack of jurisdiction.
