California lawmakers estimate the state will donate one million dollars for relief of flood victims in Ohio and Indiana, excluding clothing and supplies. Railroads and express companies will ship goods free, with Oregon and Washington expected to contribute about five hundred thousand dollars.

George King known as Jack Davis to La Crosse police pleaded guilty in county court to peddling without a license. Deputy Sheriff William Ritter arrested him for selling watches bought for fifty cents at five dollars each, totaling about fifteen dollars.
