UW Lax student elected state veterans association head
Keith Lindgren a University of Wisconsin La Crosse student was elected president of the Wisconsin Association of Collegiate Veterans at Eau Claire. Gregory Hellring another UW L student was named liaison officer. Twenty eight of the 61 member UW L Campus Veterans club attended the three day convention. In all 250 veterans from 16 schools participated. The La Crosse unit ranks fourth largest among WACVO chapters.

In Black River Falls, 26 year old Mrs Jude Gail Giese was found stabbed to death in her apartment early Monday. Her husband Carl Giese, also 26, faces first degree murder charges after being treated for wounds and held in jail. An autopsy found death from stab wounds to heart and lungs. Bail set at 50000. preliminary hearing scheduled for March 28. The Gieses were former teachers at Black River Junior High School.
