In La Crosse on March 16 1999 Edgar P Larsen of the Seventeenth Ward writes to deny receiving any of the Stephenson money and clarifies he is the sole Larsen in the southern city ward area involved in politics. He states he did not take tainted funds and signs as an election inspector.
In Parral Mexico on March 16 five men posing as cattlemen killed Allemjandro Munoz and his son after demanding hidden wealth. The robbers tied them, shot the son, and suspended the father by the heels before finding about 1500 dollars and fleeing. The wife and daughter alerted authorities.
Madison March 16 Assemblyman Roe introduced a resolution thanking Wisconsin insurgent representatives for their work in Congress yesterday. The measure was laid over.
