George Zahn in his La Crosse home died at 3 30 this morning after a three month illness of heart trouble. He was 82. Born in Germany he moved to America as a youth and settled in La Crosse in 1883. He served as sexton of the Jewish cemetery and is survived by his sons John Edward George and three daughters Mrs Stotz Mrs Nekola and Mrs Buyers. He also leaves a brother John Zahn and a widow. The funeral will be Tuesday at 30 from the home and 9 from St Joseph Cathedral with burial in Catholic cemetery.
The 12 year old daughter of Mr and Mrs S B Mateske of 839 Gould Street died at home this morning at 11 45 She had been an invalid since age one death due to general debility Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
