Wisconsin Pardons Reconsider Old Murder Case
Gov. Davidson commuted John Bernhardt of Waukesha from life to thirty years, effective as a pardon after more than thirty years served for first degree murder in stabbing a saloonkeeper. Senator Roher supported the petition. Mrs. William C. Krembs, serving ten years for injuring Clara Peterson, was pardoned amid poor health. Peterson survived a restaurant shooting in Stevens Point on Sept 23, 1905.
