Changes Recommended In La Crescent Water Dept Ordinance
A La Crescent Minnesota village council hearing reviewed sweeping proposed changes to the municipal water department ordinance. The panel urged quarterly meter reading and billing with discounts for prompt payment and stronger delinquency follow up. They also recommended separate meters for each premises and a $10 deposit to guarantee payment. The group concluded these measures could boost revenue and run the utility more like a business.
