Four People Implicated in Mankato Murder Case
In Mankato Minnesota on June 29 four prisoners facing formal information for the murder of H J Ledbeter are guarded at the jail by deputy sheriffs armed with Krag rifles. The prisoners are Mrs Ledbeter Frank Smith William Schwandt and Mrs Schwandt. Smith confesses to Ledbetters death but Schwandt disputes involvement citing a business dispute and his alibi. An inquest was scheduled as authorities examine the case and Ledbeters farm where the body was found buried in a potato patch.
