Curiosity Note Brought To La Crosse Bank Window

A 52 year old La Crosse National Bank note, issued in 1876 and signed by G C Hixon with S S Burton as cashier, was redeemed at Olaf Hoff's window. The bill, from the original La Crosse National Bank, drew interest due to Burton’s later murder. A collector offered $300 for 30 uncirculated notes, while a new $5 note drew attention for upside down printing.
