All-Concrete U.S. 14 From La Crosse to Madison Planned by 1950

The Wisconsin state highway division reports major 1950 paving plans for U S 14 between La Crosse and Madison. Concrete surfacing will begin July 1 at Holmen with completion targeted by early August, making a continuous all concrete route.

Pollution Group Given Plaudits By Senator For Cleanup Order

Summer Planned Public School Improvements

Public schools will gain new storage at Washburn with a remodel of the principal’s office separating it from the supervisor’s area. Central high adds cafeteria furniture, elevated floor in chemistry, and art room remodeling. Lincoln gets a redesigned home maker kitchen. Maintenance works include roof, heating, playground resurfacing, painting, and wiring. Hogan addition south classrooms to be completed for fall. Cyrenaica bans electric appliances to save power.
