Welfare payroll access plan eyed by Wisconsin Board
The State Board of Public Welfare will study a proposed amendment to open public assistance payroll records to inspection. The plan, drafted for minimal duplication, would require counties to keep bound payroll books with names addresses and amounts paid and make them public during office hours. It also bars using lists for political or commercial purposes and may go to the 1953 legislative session.
