La Crosse Faces 24 Major Traffic Lanes by 1995
City Planner Ronald Bracegirdle told LAPC that by 1995 La Crosse will need 24 major north to south lanes from the North Side to La Crosse Street and to South Avenue. Alternatives include widening Rose Street West Avenue and Losey Boulevard to six lanes each and expanding 16th Street and others to four lanes.

Ronald B. Coles former Lake County board president received three years probation after being convicted of extorting money from four tavern owners. The judge cited extenuating circumstances and noted Coles struggled to serve the public, with restitution paid by two tavern owners.
