Teacher acquitted after flag stepping incident in classroom
Arlie McCartt a 39 year old former Kenston High School teacher was acquitted by a Geauga County jury on defiling a flag charges. The court held that proof of malicious intent was required for conviction and witnesses testified McCartt pulled down the flag stepped on it and spoke about the Spanish American War. McCartt resigned after the February incident drawing protests.
