Racine councils trims 1 million relief works plan
Racine Wisconsin city council cut the original 1,000,000 relief works program to 205,000 by a 7 to 0 vote. The move cancels plans for a new library, municipal garage and second community house while preserving a fire station, a community house and bridge work. The city will apply for 30 percent of the 205,000 and finance the rest locally. Previously it predicted delinquent taxes against the loan and hoped for a 300,000 grant.
