Court action seeks to bar interstate fair grounds use
Litigation over use of city park property for the Interstate Fair was prepared this week. Plaintiffs claim the grounds were ceded to the city for park purposes and that leasing for a fair violates the conveyance. Eastern city residents oppose the fair due to stalls and stockyard likeness. If successful, the lease cancellation could end the interstate fair this fall. Names of plaintiffs and attorney withheld. Counsel says condemnation backing the park use makes other use illegal.
