Chicago June 19 An investigation by Attorney General Setad into Continental Financing reveals a national network with over twenty eight thousand subscribers paying fifty cents to five dollars monthly. Only asset found so far is 34000 in unsecured notes.
Robt J. Thorne of Montgomery Ward Co testified before the grand jury in Chicago on June 19 as part of a labor graft inquiry. Other large business figures are to testify and additional evidence suggesting a conspiracy between employers and strike leaders was presented by United States Attorney Healy and assistants.
Federal circles report the grand jury preparing to vote on thirty three indictments when it convenes Wednesday. Indictments are being drawn by Assistant Attorney General Pagin and U S Attorney Morrison and will name prominent packers, their employees, and men connected with private car monopolies.
Department Commander F A Copeland of the Wisconsin Grand Army of the Republic says he will not name his adjutant or assistant for a week. He plans a local headquarters and an office here next week but will not disclose further details until official appointment is announced.

Fred Simons a well known young man of the south side received a painful injury this afternoon at work at the Vought-Berger company. His index finger on the right hand was caught in a cutting edge and the tip shaved off. Dr. Stteck dressed the wound.
Mr and Mrs E H Thomas of this city are guests of friends and relatives at Colfax Springs Iowa. The note reads as a local social item noting temporary visit and hospitality extended by residents.

He is held at the central police station awaiting transport with soldiers.
The new Spence park filling of the lower area is nearly complete. Public works will sow the tract with grass plant trees and extend the sidewalk once grading finishes. The park will later be cemented similar to Winona.
Real estate man Frank Roth owns a three-eyed white Wyandotte hatched at his Market street home from Indiana eggs. The chick has one eye on each side and a second eye above the normal position. The healthy bird grows rapidly and may draw Barnum show interest when in town next month.

Des Moines reports storms last night worsened flood danger in southeastern Iowa. A mining camp at Bagley was destroyed by a tornado and lightning killed Charles Shoker of Fort Dodge.
A lightning strike hit the Salor refinery in Lima Ohio, igniting naptha stored there and burning over 33,000 barrels. The fire caused an estimated loss of a quarter of a million dollars.
The Fyfe Manson company board of trade brokers assigned today in Chicago. Liabilities total 80 000 dollars while assets are 55 000 dollars. Cause of the failure is not known.
