State To Hold Bridge Hearing In Pepin County
Residents and landowners along Thompson Lake in Pepin County will gather at the county courthouse in Du to protest the plans of the State Highway Commission to relocate the U S 10 bridge. Edward Boland and 17 other neighbors challenge a proposed eastward shift, arguing it would alter the watercourse, deposit sand and debris on property, and harm fishing, farm lands, and wildlife. The petition emphasizes conservation and soil and natural beauty preservation.
