Steven Jacobson six, son of Mr and Mrs William Jacobson of Viroqua R3, is in the intensive care unit at Lutheran Hospital La Crosse after being struck by a car while riding from his family farm. He suffered a compound leg fracture and facial injuries. The driver Richard Chaney R3 Viroqua could not avoid the collision at 7:22 p m on a county road. Officer said the accident was unavoidable. Robert Davis 21 R4 Viroqua was treated and released after a motorcycle collision at a Viroqua intersection with driver Pat Rumsey R2.

More than 1350 people attended five La Crosse County dairy farm open houses Sunday as part of June Dairy Month. Co chairmen Robert J. Nelson and Merlin Wehrs noted attendance surpassed last year by 350. Weather was nearly perfect with sunny dry cool conditions and farm hosts offered dairy treats.
