Prentice Man Missing on Flight in Arctic
Edmonton report says Chuck Kunes of Prentice Wisconsin and Douglas Torp of Duluth Minnesota are missing along with McAvoy a mining geologist group employed by Roberts Mine Northwest Territories. The trio was in a single engine flight that disappeared north of Minnesota and has been missing since June 9.

Plane missing in Arctic search near Itchen Lake
A RFC June 17 engine plane, last seen a week ago near Bristol Lake north of the Arctic Circle, headed toward Itchen Lake. Twelve planes scoured 1,000 square miles in Sunday search as officials noted above freezing but frozen lakes. McAvoy, a veteran northern flyer, has joined the effort.

Tavern Operator Shot By Burglar in Wisconsin
FREEDOM Wis AP The operator of Liesch VFW Bar Merrill Liesch 25 waited in darkness with a loaded shotgun early Sunday and was wounded by a burglar in a brief gunfire exchange. Outagamie Sheriff Calvin Spice said several burglaries and attempts occurred at the tavern near Merrill. Liesch remains at Kaukauna Community Hospital after surgery.
