June 15 dispatch reports Ma zatlan federal garrison repulsed a heavy night assault by constitutionalists off Mazatlan using machine guns with deadly effect. The engagement continued until morning with the garrison defending the city.
Mrs. Wiley Belcher of Dimons West Virginia locked her three children aged up to five in a room while she went to the store. When she returned the home was ablaze and the children were dead.
Elgin Illinois June 15 butter was quoted at 27 1/2 cents today an increase of 1 1/2 cents over last week reflecting firmer prices in the local market.

At the ice men s picnic on French Island yesterday a fight erupted over a keg said to be stolen. Henry Goyette, a farmer, was attacked near the St Elmo saloon and suffered a battered eye missing teeth and other injuries. He was last seen absent from the saloon today, while owner John Elsen downplayed the violence saying a little trouble occurred with few hurt.
Mrs. Laura Hall, investigator for the Wisconsin legislative vice committee, completed a week's work in La Crosse then departed for Madison to present findings to Senator Howard Teasdale and other committee members. She reportedly focused on local wage conditions and investigated alleged resorts, staying at the YWCA during her visit.
In Mt. Clemens Michigan on June 15 officers opened a murder and death by own action inquiry into the deaths of George Groth aged 63 and his brother-in-law Fred Behmke aged 69. Both men were found with bullets in their bodies at the Groth home.
Toledo reports that Mich ael Radditz assistant keeper at Walbridge Park zoo was crushed by Baby the four ton elephant. The animal hurled him from its back and kneeed him before thrusting with its tusks as bystanders watched in shock.

The body of George L. Steadman who died of heart trouble Saturday morning at City Railway company car barns will be sent to Ontario tomorrow at 8 o'clock on the Northwestern road. The funeral will be held there tomorrow afternoon.
