Stans Denies Role In Watergate Hearings
Maurice H. Stans testified at Senate Watergate hearings that he acted as a cashier with no strategic role in Nixons 1972 campaign and had no advance knowledge of the wiretapping raid or coverup. He said the campaign managers, not fundraisers, dictated tactics and that his finance committee operated separately.
