Langford Slayers Plan Robbery Theory Emerges
Carl Rood, attorney for Marion Langford, said he believed Albert E. Langford was shot during an attempted robbery by two men whose timing was spoiled by a barking dog. The 63 year old textile executive died June 4 in his Park Avenue apartment. Beatrice Coleman, the Austrian countess linked to Robert Redwing, offered another theory that Langford was killed because he stood in someone’s way. Coleman denied any promised money related to the Langfords marriage, calling reports of a courtship fee a joke.
