Sixty one years of married life celebrated in Sparta
Mrs. and Mrs. Joseph AL Jenkins observed their sixty first wedding anniversary at the daughter’s Grove Street home in Sparta with children and friends. Mr. Jenkins, born 1841 in Cleveland Ohio, and Helen Washburn, born 1844 in Hartford Wisconsin, married in 1862 and homesteaded in Jenkins Valley, a grandson now owns the farm. They have five children Arthur Tave and Anna Ed, and Carrie (died 1911), eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. The couple remain healthy and active with daily activities. A dainty reception followed by wishes for many more anniversaries.
