Venereal Disease Control Plan OK'd

The Western Wisconsin Health Planning Organization board in Black River Falls endorsed a venereal disease control plan for seven counties with a three year funding of 70 690 to be sought from the Wisconsin Division of Health. Funds largely come from a 220 000 settlement with drug manufacturers. The program will be run by local public health departments and La Crosse city health, with La Crosse city seeking 39 700 and county 8 830 over three years, while other counties request their allocations. A five percent reimbursement to WWHPO for work done was approved, and state recognition for comprehensive health planning units was discussed. A meeting of area continuing health education providers recommended forming a Continuing Health Education Council as a sub-entity of the executive committee.
