Arab Air Force Grounded as Israel Claims Aerial Knockout
Israeli air force chief Gen. Mordechai Hod said Israel destroyed 441 enemy planes in the first hours of the war. The strategy focused on paralyzing the Egyptian air force while most planes were on the ground. The source credits superior training, French made fighters, and bold ground attacks for the decisive early air victory. Jordan and Syria losses are noted, with Iraqi forces largely absent from the front.
