Wind Squall Kills Truck Driver and Injures Three

Three Injured In Rockford Train Collision

Three men were injured in a head on collision last night between an Illinois Central freight train and a switch engine near Rockford Illinois. Debris covered a wide right of way while crews cleared the wreckage. Charles William Noble 78 died in the Veterans hospital Dayton Ohio after a week as a patient. A longtime contracting business leader in his community he served as a major in World War I and later rose to lieutenant colonel in the reserve.
