L F Easton, La Crosse Park Leader, Dies at 88
L F Easton longtime La Crosse park and city plan official died at his home 1303 Main street Friday evening at age 88 after ill health. He served on the park board since 1908 and influenced city parks development. He also led school grounds and buildings work and held roles on Pettibone park commission. Easton born June 2 1859 in Chatfield Minn left a legacy in engineering and law though practiced little law. He survived by son Dr J C Easton Morgantown W Va and four daughters.

Plane Crashes Into Fish Shop Killing Pilot At Fire
A plane dived into the Hot Fish shop on South Avenue at 9 50 Saturday morning destroying the building. The pilot Gordon Schultz 22 died his uncle Harry Schultz 47 severely burned. Firefighters faced water shortages and exploded ammunition as flames enveloped the shop. Officials opened an investigation but no inquest decision yet.
