Reading Plan Explains City Summer Reading Voyage
City children will join a 10 week guided reading program titled Sailing the Seven Seas beginning June 10 at Main Library and branches. Each child reads three to four books per week to earn a personal boat and a certificate. The voyage visits eight world ports with homespun lessons and will be tracked by a name marked boat. Parents are urged to support and monitor progress as librarians visit classrooms to promote reading and distribute letters.
