Seek Review of Court Labor Meeting Ban
Milwaukee attorney David Previant said he would ask the circuit court to review a state employment relations board ruling that found a series of Briggs and Stratton workers work stoppages to attend union meetings illegal. The UAW AFL local at Briggs and Stratton reported 39 stoppages between November 7, 1945 and the board ruling last month. The board ruled on May 13 that such stoppages are not legal and only a strike is a legal work stoppage. Previant called the ruling arbitrary and unsupported by substantial evidence.
