Judge Denies Injunction in La Crosse Jewelry Case
Judge Lincoln Neprud refused to grant a five year restraint preventing Ebert R. McIlvaine from working in La Crosse jewelry shops. The Minnesota firm Cortland Silver Jewelers sought injunctive relief against McIlvaine after he left Cortland for Crescent Jewelers. The memorandum held the clause unreasonable and noted lack of proof of irreparable damage or clean hands by the plaintiff.
