Decision Upholds Equal Rates for Red Wing Freight

The Interstate Commerce Commission ruled Red Wing must receive the same trunk line rates as St. Paul for shipments from trunk line points. It found the added lake and rail arbitraries to Red Wing unlawful and prejudicial, noting Red Wing midstream between Chicago routes and competing western cities. The decision, chaired by Chairman Knapp, addresses discriminatory practices affecting Red Wing freight tariffs.

Rate dispute over Red Wing traffic halted

The case argues that the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul should stop altering published trunk line rates to Red Wing from trunk line points. The tribunal finds the circumstances do not justify awarding reparations and urges no reparation.
