Idaho Governor says state will continue prosecution of Moyer and Pettibone as partners of Haywood’s leaders are to be tried. The Appeal to Reason labor paper from Girard Kansas telegraphs congratulations to President Roosevelt for the acquittal of the so called Undesirable citizen at Boise.
A Sunday accident left a man with a bone protruding through his shoe. Details on location and condition were not disclosed.
Edward Larson former register of deeds at the county building was badly hurt when his horse spooked by a passing car. He leaped from the buggy and fractured an ankle, the bone protruding through his shoe. He was taken to St Francis hospital for treatment along with companions Gill Cooley Paul Olson and James Harper.
Denver reports a flood of congratulatory telegrams on the Haywood verdict with messages from ten foreign countries and requests for Haywood to speak in Philadelphia Cincinnati and Baltimore. The federation plans a reception and miners expect increased membership as Boise notes Haywood slept at home and jurors found him not guilty after seventeen months. Moyer to be released on bonds. Pettibone bail offers discussed amid strong state opposition to his release. Idaho jurors return a not guilty verdict in Haywood case.

In probate court Judge Brindley hears the will dispute of Margaret Brewer who seeks part of sister Elizabeth Schaefer's estate valued at $4000. Schaefer left her entire estate to St Joseph's Catholic Cathedral. Brewer's lawyers challenge the bequest while executor's counsel say the gift is legal.
Col. R. M. Baker of Chicago pledges to pull down a fountain he funded in San Bernardino if vandalism continues. He cites the loss of a dozen cis and a broken steel chest used for ice and says he has removed daily ice provisions from his will.
Plans for the La Crosse city auditorium were received from three outside architects Thomas Holvoe of St. Paul Downs and Eads of Minneapolis and Hugh H. Riddle of Chicago. All bids fit the $60 000 target with a $65 000 bond reduced to 60 000 for incidental costs. The special committee will review and select the winner, with awards and construction to follow before Aug 9. Colonel Holway announced plans are in and local designers expected to enter shortly.
In Davenport Illinois a sensational elopement ended with the arrest of Roy Hodge a 13yearold Delpha Hodge and Mrs Lily Wood who forced him to jail with a revolver. Hodge faces seduction charges and George Wunder aiding license and sworn perjury is also under arrest.
Trempealeau Wisconsin July 29 Venerable Mr and Mrs W E Eastman of Trempealeau City mark sixty years of marriage native of New Hampshire both born there. He has seen eighty two winters while she recently passed eighty. Romance began in Old New Hampshire more than sixty years ago and has endured through many trials.
Washington dispatch from July 29 1907 reports the tariff row with Germany will persist in Congress. High tariff advocates plan to push the issue through the Ways and Means Committee and into the House, accusing the administration of nullifying tariff laws. The American Protective Tariff League signals support to mobilize backing for the confrontation.
The funeral for Mrs. Henrietta Dasse who died Saturday morning was held this afternoon at the Avon Street Lutheran church. Services were conducted at 2 o'clock at the residence and 2:30 at the church by Reverend Thurow. William Dwyer supervised arrangements. Interment followed at Oak Grove cemetery.
Mrs Helen Marion Burke wife of M T Burke and mother of E R Burke died at 134 South Eleventh street this morning from complications after breaking her hip last November. Funeral will be private at a time not yet decided.

Madison July 29 Gov Davidson announces Charles C Bennett of South Wayne La Fayette county as superintendent of public property replacing the late Gen Geo E Bryant. Term runs to January 1909 with a salary of 2000 dollars. The legislature had planned other appointments for politicians.
Preston Minn July 29 Wolf's feed mill discovered in flames at 3 am and totally destroyed with a loss around 4000 dollars. Suspicions of arson arise from a previous fire two weeks earlier. Wolf's residence had suffered about 300 dollars damage two years ago. Insurance on the mill unknown.
In La Crosse six lithographers including foreman Charles Romberg quit Saturday evening after being told the plant would be an open shop and would recognize no union. Management denies pressuring workers and says men could return but would not be unionized. Romberg claims a standing contract through the future.
In Madison on July 29 W. J. Bryan spoke at Monona Lake on "Old World and the New" and met Democratic delegates while dining with City Attorney John A. Aviward. He identified three linked national issues government control of railroads tariff and trusts and said they can be solved by the same methods. When asked about Governor Johnson as a potential candidate he replied he was discussing issues not men.
Attorney E C Higbee returned from a western trip and heard Clarence Darrow address the jury in Boise Idaho Darrow representing William D Haywood in the murder case of former Governor Frank Steunenberg Higbee was not present for the verdict yesterday
The divorce action of George Olson versus Eleanore Olson was continued until early September by the attorneys. Attorney E. C. Higbee was unprepared to argue the case today. Judge Fruit will take his vacation starting Friday and will hear arguments on his return late August or early September.

Leonard Nabor of Portage a freight conductor on the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul died in a Milwaukee hospital yesterday from a tumor. He was well known in La Crosse where this news is reported.
The eighth annual convention of the National Order of Gideons closed today with services through the city. A large mass meeting was held this evening led by Charles M. Smith, president. J. C. Smith, national chaplain, delivered the annual sermon. The convention is described as the best in the organization’s history.
