In Plano Illinois fifty miles west of Chicago tramps tossed from a Burlington train are suspected of trying to wreck the east bound fast mail due in Chicago at 3 30 a m Rails and ties were placed on the tracks in two spots but a slow freight bumped into the obstruction preventing a derailment authorities say The incident occurred last night and the flyer narrowly escaped disaster with prompt action by the freight crew and train crew referenced in the report

He allegedly fired fifteen bullets at his father after a quarrel at the family home in Pontiac Illinois. Albert surrendered to police after the shooting and the mother and daughter were driven from the house.
A petition filed by assignee Edward F. Spurney reveals a $400,000 shortage in the Farmers' & Merchants' Banking Co of Cleveland. Treasurer Henry W. Gasselle faced embezzlement charges of $32,325 and was granted a continuance until August 28 after pleading not guilty.
Mr Taft is let in on a good thing today as Republican nominee. The GOP has taken him into its confidence and he makes an acceptance speech. The document about which the candidate will seek public favor is now public.
