Guard Apprehends Man Carrying Pistol At Governors Conference
Cincinnati police say a 20 year old man, McKeown, was found with a loaded 22 caliber pistol in the Sheraton lobby as Governor Maddox arrived. He also had handcuffs and a phony badge and told officers he carried the gun to avoid crowds and because he liked Maddox. He was detained and released on bond after Maddox commented publicly on gun control. The incident occurred amid Johnson's Vietnam policy remarks at the National Governors Conference.

Three Injured In Auto And Cycle Crash Near New Lisbon
Three people were seriously injured in a Tuesday night crash on U.S. 12 16 east of New Lisbon. The motorcycle rider Robert Agenda 21 of New Lisbon and passenger Janice Bondeson of Mauston were in a head on collision with Richard Mann 20 of Peoria Illinois. Agenda was hospitalized in Mauston then Madison with head injuries. Bondeson suffered back and pelvic injuries and facial lacerations. Mari received head injuries and was moved by Air Force ambulance to a military hospital. Delmar Ormson a Juneau County traffic officer said Mari was cited for crossing the center line.
