The La Crosse Tribune will publish a special American Legion tabloid on Thursday with precise marching times for the parade. It will include unit lists and the route for Bicentennial celebrations starting at 2 p.m.

Mayor Patrick Zielke will stop new appointments to the La Crosse Redevelopment Authority and will not reappoint Roy Wittenberg as his term ends in August. New York AP reports Jimmy Carter will secure the Democratic presidential nomination tonight after a 17 month campaign from nowhere. His running mate choice remains secret with plans to discuss with nine governors and to brief six U.S. senators ahead of a Thursday news conference and convention action.
The AFL-CIO plans to endorse Jimmy Carter after the Democratic National Convention and mobilize its political network for a nationwide voter registration drive. Organizing efforts will begin once the convention ends, with federation units contacting Carter staff to build strategy and campaign operations.
The Viterbo Summer 1976 Repertory Theatre opens Carousel in the Main Theatre of the Viterbo Fine Arts Center. The Rodgers Hammerstein musical follows Billy Bigelow and Julie Jordan through love, a failed robbery, and a one day return from heaven. The cast includes Joseph Keller, Kathleen Sullivan, Jody Brieske, Kenneth Wiegers, Paul Gulsvig and Jeffrey Luchsinger.
