Riot and massacre ravage Tabriz as Cossack forces breach the city during a temporary truce. Reports say 370 killed and 70 wounded near the outskirts while private estimates place total deaths around 2000. Rebels defend the city as bread runs short and flags are torn down.
Mrs. Mary V. Fessler wife of A A Fessler of the firm Fesler Dahl died this morning at 8 30 at 1099 South Third street after a two month illness. She is survived by her husband her parents Mr and Mrs Mathias Fleck Norwalk Wis seven brothers and three sisters. Born January 8 1873 she was 25. The Fesslers married two years ago. Funeral Monday at Sam at St Joseph cathedral Rev Father Siutyter officiating with Catholic cemetery burial.
Madison July 2 It has been practically agreed among state officers that after W D Connor retires Milwaukee German W C Brumbder will be their choice for lieutenant governor Alderman Meisheimer of Milwaukee was also suggested Rumor says the governor met Brumbder at the Chicago convention and a decision would favor Brumbder if Connor retires from the race
After a tank explosion in Pa on July 3, two workers were killed and ten injured. Emergency crews rushed to the scene as investigators began assessing the cause of the blast and the extent of damage.

East St Louis on July 3 reports Charlie Wang, a Chinese boy, fired a blank cartridge pistol in celebration injuring playmate Claude Walker. In a separate note, seven year old Earle Blackburn of Pana, Illinois, injured his hand with a revolver blank cartridge.
Genesee New York July 3 Kermit T Roosevelt son of the president is guest of Major W A Wadsworth He will participate in the annual equestrian contest at Wadsworths bringing together New Yorks best horsemen and riders.
Rev Charles A Fries brother of City Comptroller Fries will celebrate his first solemn high mass at St Joseph Cathedral next Sunday morning. An invited guest reception and banquet will follow at Knights of Columbus hall and a children’s reception will be held in the afternoon at St Joseph hall on Sixth street.
G. F. McDonough of Superior was appointed by Governor Davidson to the state barber board for a two year term.
Jamesson boy 12 years old was playing on top of two box cars being moved by a switch engine on the Milwaukee road when a jar threw him between the cars. He was crushed and instantly killed. the body was dragged briefly before the train stopped. Parents live at 1319 Berlin street.
Denver dispatch reports Tammany has surrendered to Bryan. Bird Coler announces New York will cast its vote for the Commoner, preferring Gray then Towne for vice president. New York expects Bryan on the first ballot as the party’s choice. A second note covers a platform plank for a national theater debated by major city committees.

Ernest Cornell traveled to La Crosse to obtain a warrant for the arrest of Joe Koblitz amid a rural feud. The complaint alleges Koblitz assaulted Cornell’s son and threatened to kill Cornell and collapse the son atop him. The same man previously challenged a local constable over a horse seizure.
La Crosse led 10 to 2 after three innings as Green Bay unraveled in the second. La Crosse tallied nine runs on four hits and five Green Bay errors. batteries were Harms Flynn for La Crosse and Morris McClusky for Green Bay.
John Hesse a St Louis teamster saved two boys from drowning after they struggled in the river. His companion James Smith helped, but Hesse returned home drenched and was scolded by his wife for wet clothes.
John Haferler aged 87 died today at the poor farm. He had worked on farms in St. Joseph's Ridge and after his wife died went to the poor house. Funeral at 10 tomorrow morning with interment in St. Joseph's Ridge Catholic Cemetery. Fessler and Dahil in charge.
