Louise Chandler 39 of Tomah died of a stroke likely before her car left U S highway 12 16 east of Manston Friday night. Auto found with minor damage. autopsy by Dr. Paul Deitz La Crosse pathologist. Mother of five, she worked for John Oster Co Milwaukee driving weekly to Tomah and lived with her father John Herman. Five children ages 10 to 19 at home or stationed with the armed forces. Funeral arrangements not yet set.

Protest Ruling In School Case At Elm Grove District
Elm Grove residents who signed a petition seeking a referendum on the county school committee order attaching the district to La Crosse protested an opinion by District Attorney John S. Coleman. He said the petition does not meet statutes and a referendum election cannot be called on July 7.
