Somali police said Captain Andreas Foerde of the 2394-ton Norwegian freighter Mariko died of a heart attack and the third officer was injured during a mutiny by the ship's Chinese crew. The mutiny occurred Wednesday off Kisi Maio port. Kisimaio police boarded the vessel and arrested 11 crewmen.
A fast moving fire in a three story house in West Croydon killed eight people, six of them children, all members of a Jamaican immigrant family. Neighbor Mrs. K J Brown recalled hearing children scream as flames prevented rescue.
