Ashland Wisconsin January 15. Nate Sherrard a cook at Echlin s lumber camp 20 miles south of Ashland awoke to a fire that claimed his wife and four children aged one two four and six. Campmates dragged him from the burning shack but he suffered burns likely to prove fatal as the flames consumed the rough home. He had risen at 4 am to prepare breakfast for about 100 men.
